To host a great holiday party requires a little more preparation. How many guests will show up? Is the menu simple but elegant? Will my guest have enough entertainment?
Every party should be the best party you’ve ever hosted. The best way to do this is to be prepared.
1. Invitations: The rule is half of the people you invite will actually show up, over invite. Mail an invitation if you’re having a special event. If it’s informal you can email and invitation. Follow up with a phone call 1 week before to confirm your guests.
2. Menu: When planning your menu decide if you are having a sit down dinner, a buffet, or cocktails and horsd’oeuves. One of the hottest trends now is mini appetizers and mini deserts. Always have a signature drink; it doesn’t have to be an alcoholic drink but something that signifies the party. For this holiday plan“Knock out Nog” Traditional egg nog with cinnamon sticks with rum.
3. Have a theme: Ask each guest to bring an ornament for your tree, a favorite holiday recipe, or funniest holiday photo. This will be a great ice breaker for your party and will create new holiday memories.
4. Don’t forget your camera. You need to capture your party for your memories. Send out a Thank you note with a picture from the party or email a photo collage.
